STAQ Practice Adjustment & Registration Reminder
Dear STAQ Families!
We are excited to start a new season in just about a week! As we gear up for this new beginning, we would like to share the following important announcements – please read this in full as facility complications will impact our practice schedule:
Competitive Teams:
Our online registration is now open – please visit www.staquatics.org and click on the blue “Registration” tile for more information and to register.
The Team Tryouts will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 9:00am-11:00am at Corning-Painted Post High School. New Members or returning members seeking to move up to the next group level are required to attend.
Our Age Group 1 and Age Group 2 season runs September 15, 2025 through February 28, 2026. Due to several major renovations scheduled for the Corning-Painted Middle School Pool and due to some short-term issues with the Middle School Pool, we need to make the following adjustments to our practices:
- Practices for Age Group 1 and Age Group 2 will take place at Corning-Painted Post High School pool starting on Monday, September 15, 2025 until further notice – we will update the practice calendar by the end of the week for the next week’s practices until the MS Pool is confirmed to be open for use. There is a change to our stated practice schedule while we are combining all groups at the HS pool:
AG1: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday – 5:30 to 6:30 PM
AG2: Monday through Thursday – 6:00 to 7:30 PM
- Due to Middle School Pool closure, starting on February 9, 2026, our last weeks of practices for Age Group 1 and Age Group 2 will take place at Corning-Painted Post High School, with the season ending on February 26, 2025 for Age Group 1 and Age Group 2. This is due to pool space limitations with our fixed two-hour time slot as the Varsity seasons come to a close – if our club numbers allow us to keep all groups running we will send an updated communication.
- The Age Group 1 and Age Group 2 swimmers qualifying for the 2026 Niagara Gold Championship to be held in March 2026 will be given an opportunity to continue practicing in March in parallel with the Senior group until they’ve competed at their qualified meets.
The Senior Group season will run September 15, 2025 through March 26, 2026. Senior Group practices will run in parallel with Age Group sessions in September 2025 until the Middle School pool filter system is fixed and again in February 2026. This means our older, more experienced swimmers will be training at the same time and place as the younger athletes. We kindly ask all senior swimmers to be respectful and considerate around the younger swimmers during these combined practice times.
Our parent meeting will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 7:00pm via Zoom. Join us for this brief and informal opportunity to discuss the upcoming season and address any questions you may have for our Coaches and Board. A calendar invite with the meeting link will be sent out prior to the meeting.
Swim Lessons
We are thrilled to announce continuation of our popular Stroke School as well as our relatively new but highly successful Intro to Swim lessons. Please visit www.staquatics.org and click on the blue “Swim Lessons” tile for more information and to register.
Due to the repairs to the Corning-Painted Post Middle School Pool, our swim lessons will be held at Corning-Painted Post High School.
As we transition into the upcoming swim season, there are numerous achievements that fill us with pride. During the 2024-2025 short course swim season, STAQ boys team ranked 12th among all the Niagara LCS swim teams! Our girl teams earned a solid 20th place! We have set a high bar for ourselves, and we are looking forward to new accomplishments during the upcoming 2025-2026 short course season.
