STAQ Weekend Update 4/12/2025- Speedos Edition

Evening STAQ!

As we conclude our championship season with the 2025 Eastern Zone North Speedo Sectionals, 5 athletes represented STAQ at this high level meet and proudly displayed all the hard work they've been putting into practices. All in all, there were over 900 athletes entered in this meet, making it one of the largest Sectional meets in the area! Through many tapers and re-tapers, and several previous championship-level meets full of high-intensity racing, our crew still put down times to be proud of: ranking them amongst the most elite athletes in the Eastern Zone.

• The 200 Medley Relay team of Joey Crisco, Shawn De Pedro, JP Sierzant, and Marvin Reimsnyder placed 44th
• The 400 Free Relay team of Joey Crisco, Shawn De Pedro, Marvin Reimsnyder, and JP Sierzant placed 45th
• The 200 Free Relay team of Joey Crisco, JP Sierzant, Shawn De Pedro, and Marvin Reimsnyder placed 43rd
• The 400 Medley Relay team of Joey Crisco, Shawn De Pedro, Marvin Reimsnyder, and JP Sierzant placed 46th (with a new STAQ record!)

• Joey Crisco placed 191st in the 50 free, 119th in the 200 breast, and 169th in the 100 free
• Shawn De Pedro time trialed two events, finishing 9th of 19 in the 100 breaststroke, and 9th of 12 in the 50 free (PR)
• Katherine McKane placed 45th in the 100 breaststroke (PR), 39th in the 200 breaststroke, 106th in the 100 free (PR), and 62nd in the 200 IM (PR)
• Marvin Reimsnyder placed 164th in the 50 free, and 165th in the 100 free (PR)
• JP Sierzant placed 133rd in the 50 free, 148th in the 100 free, and had a great drop in his 100 backstroke while still practicing the race (having only ever competed in it twice before!)

The unwavering resilience and dedication of this crew is a shining inspiration to us all. Though it has been a long season, it has been immensely rewarding seeing all the time dropped throughout the 2024-2025 Fall/Winter season by all the STAQ athletes of all levels. The coaching staff is beyond proud of the work everyone has put in, and we hope that you are all able to enjoy some time to relax and unwind now between seasons.
