STAQ Has Fun in the Sun at 2024 UNAC Sertoma Invitational
What a fun and memorable weekend at the 48th UNAC Sertoma Invitational Swim Meet! A great many fast swims, new team records, and several outstanding awards received by the STAQ athletes- a few highlights:
Eddie Sun won the 2nd place high-point award for the boys age 8 and under!
Sharon DePedro came in 3rd for high-point for the 9-10 year old girls while only competing one of the two days of the meet!
Tyler Nale won 1st place with the highest points for the 9-10 year old boys, congratulations!
Joey Crisco came in 1st place with the highest points for the 13-14 year old boys, and was all smiles along the way!
STAQ Team overall was 4th for team high-point even though the majority of our swimmers only competed on one of the two days. We can't wait to see what we can accomplish next year at the 49th Sertoma Invite!
Oh yeah, and who could forget the all-important Coaches Relay that this meet hosts every year? If you ever want to see the grit and determination of our coaches, ask them to play the video of their fun 200m Freestyle Relay: Our STAQ coaches came together as a strong and unified team to claim 1st place out-touching UNAC by only 0.16 seconds! The relay team consisted of John Nord, Chris Nale, Aleah Nale, and Katherine McKane- what a great example for our young athletes!
STAQ is very grateful to all the wonderful coaches from Union Aquatic Club, Waverly Area Aquatic Club, and the River Rats for their camaraderie in this fun event!
