STAQ Expands Their Horizons with Long-Course Super Circuit!

John Nord

Great things come from stepping outside of your comfort zone! STAQ swimmers conquered the 50-meter long course today at the Niagara Super Circuit #3 in Webster, NY! That's a full olympic-sized pool!

A shout-out to our Novice swimmers Jackson Fang and Ellis Wilken for braving the full long course 50-meter distance in their events! As well as Intermediate swimmers Peyton Melanson and Leah Church who completed their first long course competitions too!

Kudos to John McKane for finishing the 1500m freestyle while having only done up to 200 yards previously! That was over 20-minutes of continuous racing, longer than Coach John's 800 IM!

A heartfelt thank you to Gabby Janesky for being a true teammate and friend to stay and count for John. Our team sticks together!

Congratulations to Shirley Zhu for completing all the requirements and getting certified as an Administrative Official (AO) today! The support of families and our community is instrumental in helping our club thrive, and in helping our kids succeed.

And last but not least, thank you to Victor Jin for timing the entire 5-hour session- it was a long, swelteringly hot session with plenty of walking back-and-forth the whole length of the pool; we really appreciate your help! Our team does their part to help our swim community!

Today's successes would not be possible without our exceptional coaches- Furstoss, John, Chris, Katherine, Peter, Kara, and Aiden! Thank you for all you've done!

PS- we were too busy with the pre-meet time crunches to take a full team picture, sorry! So instead please enjoy John^2 and Gabby, Erika and Brayden who stayed after their session was over to support John's mile-long race!
