STAQ Demonstrates Great Friendship and Racing at Niagara 14&U Gold Championships

John Nord

"The harder the struggle, the more glorious the triumph!" The 2024 Niagara 14 & Under Gold Championship was as exciting as it was brutal, as the exhaustion from the three-day intense competition began to settle in by the last night. Yet our athletes rallied together, fueled by silly costumes and sillier friendships, and persevered as evidenced by their amazing results! Let's remember the Irish saying that "a good friend is like a four-leaf clover, hard to find and lucky to have. " We are so fortunate and deeply grateful for all the friendships built at STAQ!

Alexys Nale was 4th in 100 breast, 21st in 200 free, 7th in 100IM, 21st in 100 free, and secured 12th place in 200 breaststroke; Joey Crisco was 4th in 200 back, crushed the 200 freestyle with a Zones qualifying time, 3rd in 100IM, battled it out to claim 1st place in an extremely exciting 200 breaststroke, and 2nd in the 200 IM; Jayden Dong was 26th in 100 breast; Tyler Nale was 6th in 200 IM, 11th in 200 free and 12th in 100 IM; Daniel Zhang was 6th in 50 back, 11th in 100 IM and 14th in 50 free; Adam Zhou was 8th in the 100 breast, 21st in 100 IM and 25th in the 50 free; John McKane took 26th place in 100 back; JP Sierzant was 5th in 50 free and took 4th place in 100 free!

And introducing our STAQ-"J" relay team of Joey, Jayden, John, and JP! They placed 6th in the 200 free relay, 10th in the 200 medley relay, 6th in the Boys 200 free relay, 10th in the Boys 200 Medley Relay and 8th place in the Boys 400 Medley Relay!

It was super exciting to see all three of our younger swimmers 10 & under on the winners podium with Tyler Nale placing 10th in 50 fly, Daniel Zhang placing 8th in 50 butterfly and Adam Zhou placing 8th in 50 breaststroke.

Also Happy Birthday to our very own Joey Crisco on the first day of the meet!!
